Little Oakley Scouts

Cub Leader Needed Urgently

Little Oakley Scouts desperately need a new cub leader. We need someone that can commit to a weekly meeting term time and occasionally at weekends and for special occasions such as St. George's day and Remembrance Sunday. They will have to undergo an enhanced DBS check and will receive training.  This position needs to be filled urgently to prevent the cub section from folding.

Please contact Emma Manning by email

Little Oakley Scouts Maintenance Weekend

we have another maintenance weekend planned for Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th February 11-3 on both days if anyone is able to come and lend a hand. Refreshments will be provided.

Minor Injury Unit Consultation

As from the 4th January there is a public consultation taking place with regard to our Minor Injury units and Walk in Centres.

An online survey for the consultation can be found at

You can also get paper copies of the survey at any of the public meetings or by calling 01206918653 or by emailing

The three options are:

  1. To continue to commission a walk in centre service in Colchester and Minor Injury units at Clacton and Harwich
  2. To stop providing the walk in centre and minor injury unit services. Patients requiring these services would be directed to 111 and seen by their local GP, out of hours GP or encouraged to self- care.
  3. The establishment of a minor injury service which would see and treat a range of minor injuries from fractures, wounds requiring stitching to infected bites, taking the pressure of A & E. This service would have sites in Colchester and Tendring – depending on where there is greatest need.

Also if you have an idea of your own, please let them know.  Below are a list of the venues, dates and times of the public meetings.
