Footpaths and Bridleways

Little Oakley Parish Council is not directly responsible for footpaths and bridleways in the village. This is one of the areas that we liaise with the relevant local authorities to resolve issues arising within the village.
Although we like to encourage people to use the public right of ways (PROW's) in Little Oakley, we would like to bring your attention to the following:
1.Footpaths - Only paths signed with public footpath or public bridleway fingerposts and waymarkers are public rights of way.
2.Dogs - The law requires to keep dogs under close control when using PROWs as well as cleaning up after them.

Dog Fouling

Dog fouling of footpaths and bridleways within the Parish continues to be a problem.
Please help to keep our footpaths clean by using the dog litter bins and rubbish bins where provided.

'No Horses' Signs

The parish council has erected ‘No horses’ signs on the footpath between the football club and Oakridge. This is a designated pathway and as such should not be used by riders on horseback. This is especially important given its use by young children and their parents going to the local primary school.
